Location & Permanent Art
The Mission Branch Library is located on the far southwest side of Tucson, adjacent to Kennedy Park, and within sight of "A" Mountain.
The sculpture in front of the library is called Na:nko Ma:s Du'ag Son, which means "Many Color Mountain" in the Tohono O'odham language, and is the creation of artists Chris Tanz, Susan Holman and Paul T. Edwards.
The sculpture consists of two rows of colorful towers, each evoking the silhouette of a mountain range.

30th Anniversary
The Mission Branch Library celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2008 with the unveiling of a mural designed by internationally known artist, Hirotsune Tashima, and four teens from The Youth In Arts Careers project.
Together, they designed three 3' x 5' glazed ceramic murals that depict Pima County's past and present, along with Yaqui, Latino and other cultural elements of the Old Pueblo. The murals will hang inside the Mission Branch Library. Mr. Tashima is from Japan and is currently part of Pima Community College's art faculty.
