About Us
The goal of Kroger’s Supplier Diversity Program is to foster the promotion, growth and development of minority, women and other diverse owned enterprises. Kroger is a complex company. To simplify the process of navigating our company and gaining access to appropriate decision makers, Kroger established a corporate-wide Supplier Diversity Program more than 30 years ago. The program has played an important role in developing Kroger’s diverse suppliers by assisting them with analyzing their business capabilities to determine whether their products or services fit within Kroger’s corporate strategies and the marketplace as a whole. We believe this is a sound business practice.
What is a diverse business?
At least 51% owned and controlled/operated by a U.S. Citizen and one of the following categories or ethnicities:
- African American
- Asian Indian
- Asian Pacific
- Hispanic
- Native American
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender
- Service Disabled Veteran
- Veteran
- Woman
As Kroger continues to grow, we are committed to doing our part to ensure that diverse businesses are a part of the mainstream of our company and our nation’s free enterprise system. Kroger has numerous opportunities, recognizing the added value of Supplier Diversity. Our approaches are as varied as the businesses and individuals involved. Our goal is always the same: to reflect the broad diversity of the marketplaces we serve.
Our Role
The Kroger Supplier Diversity Program is managed by the Director of Corporate Supplier Diversity. Our role is:
- Answer initial questions from prospective diverse businesses
- Link qualified suppliers with appropriate decision makers and serve as an ombudsman for suppliers
- Promote an “open door” atmosphere within the company that provides guidance and consultation to potential diverse suppliers and further develops their business
Certifications

NGLCC- Contact the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce for certification as a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transsexual owned business at www.nglcc.org
